Frequently asked questions

Safety & the hospital

Where exactly will I be treated?

Every patient we serve is treated at the International Healthcare Center of a top-6 public tertiary (Grade A) teaching hospital in Hangzhou. We don't spread patients across different facilities. See the hospital →

Is it safe to have surgery in China?

Your care takes place at a top-6 public teaching hospital with its own ICU and emergency department, founded in 1947 and rated Grade A++, with partnerships including the Mayo Clinic, Stanford and the University of Toronto. We treat only there — never at a standalone clinic.

Will the doctors and nurses speak English?

The IHC runs a full English-language appointment system, and we provide a companion who interprets at every appointment and handles check-in and paperwork — so nothing gets lost in translation.

What if something goes wrong during my stay?

You're inside a full hospital with its own intensive care and emergency department — not a clinic that would need to transfer you elsewhere.

Cost & payment

Is the first opinion really free?

Yes. The IHC team reviews your case at no cost and with no obligation. You only pay if you decide to proceed.

What will it cost?

We quote a landed total cost — treatment, flights, hotel, meals and itinerary — as a transparent range up front and a sealed estimate after your free assessment. Every figure is an estimate until your plan is confirmed.

How do I pay, and who am I paying?

Through our Hong Kong entity, AAS&TD YUE TECHNOLOGY LIMITED — contracted and transparent, with no cash changing hands in China.

Travel & your trip

Do I need a visa?

Most visitors do. CYTS provides the documents and guidance you'll need as part of arranging your trip. Requirements vary by nationality, so we confirm the details for your specific case.

Can I bring my partner or family?

Of course — we can arrange their trip alongside yours and suggest things for them to see and do while you're in appointments. About the city →

Will I have time to see Hangzhou?

If your recovery allows and you don't need to stay overnight, your free days are yours to explore.

What happens to my medical records and privacy?

Anything you share is kept strictly confidential and used only to review and plan your care. The IHC supports bilingual records and privacy measures during your stay, and you leave with follow-up documentation you can give to your own doctor.

How do I get started?

Send us your condition and what outcome you're hoping for, along with any records you have. The specialist team reviews it for free, and you decide where to go from there — no obligation. Start a free review →
